Background: As a Korean American, Harry understands the difficulties associated with living in two very different cultures and developing one’s identity in the context of multiple minority identities. He also identifies as a bisexual and understands the issues facing Asian American LGBTQI clients. He provides culturally competent counseling to assist each individual to better understand themselves, learn to overcome and handle mental illness, and build better relationships with themselves and those around them.
Philosophy: Harry specializes in individual and couples therapy. His work is rooted in mostly use cognitive-behavioral with a meaning-making influence, but he will draw upon other treatment orientations to create the best individualized treatment approach for the client. Harry believes that everything we do ultimately means something to us and our interpretation of the situations or moments in our lives informs us about ourselves, our interactions with others, and our beliefs of the world around us.
