Li-Hsuan Yuan

Li-Hsuan picLi-Hsuan Yuan, MA, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

Education and Experience: Li-Hsuan graduated from Pepperdine University with a master’s degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from National Chengchi University in Taiwan.

Languages: English, Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese.

Background: Born and raised in Taipei,Taiwan, Li-Hsuan came to the U.S. to pursue her master’s degree. She experienced firsthand the struggle of being an international student, “return home or stay” dilemma, culture shock, acculturation and finding self-identification. Prior to joining ACRS, she worked as a social worker in an adult day health center in Los Angeles, as well as a case manager in a social service agency in Seattle. She joined ACRS in 2015 and gained extensive clinical experiences working with adults managing depression, anxiety, panic attacks, emotional regulation, stress in life, acculturation difficulties, self-exploration, relationship issues, communication disconnection and familial conflict.

Philosophy: Li-Hsuan believes in finding meaning in difficult situations and cultivating strength when it seems impossible. She values acceptance, self-efficacy and efficiency. Li-Hsuan must see the world through the client’s eyes and find the hidden possibilities. She sees emotions and struggles as messengers and she brainstorms with the client to find effective ways to manage challenges.
